Stateline Amateur Radio Services updates for Jun - Aug 2025

First, we would like to thank ALL of our citizens, friends, companies and corporationsthat have offered donations to such an important project and cause for all in our servicearea!!!Without donations we simply could not turn our goals into achievements!

I will say I personally believe this is one of the most important tasks and projectsneeded in our service area. We have lost to many tower sites, repeaters, emergencycommunications.

​​2025 (June-August) UPDATES

1. Still working with Winnebago County over land for our 200-foot commercial towerin storage for Winnebago County Master Site. We hope to get closure over thissoon.2. We have now just recently closed on our Winnebago County back-up site. Thissite is already set with a freestanding tower and repeater building, electricalready on site, phone, etc. We are excited to now have our first piece of propertyand tower site. We have been doing clean-up work past 3 weeks getting siteready. After initial clean-up, we will strip tower and reload tower with all antennasand cables, finish inside and launch tower site #2 with at least 4 repeaters. OneVHF, 2-UHF, and the WRKY475 GMRS repeater.



We sincerely appreciate all the donations from all of you in such care over a mostimportant Emergency Communications/Amateur/GMRS/Public Safety Tower SiteNetwork project for North Central, Northwestern IL, and Southern WI.4. We have received a $2000.00 in-kind donation from Jordan Kittinger family inByron, IL that pertained to further repeater equipment for our tower and repeatersites. This was very much needed, and we sincerely thank the Kittinger family forall their care in this very important project for our area.5. Once we have the first two tower sites in Winnebago County that will coverWinnebago/Boone and most of Stephenson and Ogle Counties, we will movewest to Stephenson County area next for 3rd tower site.

We are in need of donations for the following to complete our purchased site as well asland and install of the Master site tower. If you are a company and/or private citizenthat could accomplish any of the following we certainly would appreciate the donationsand/or also in-kind labor/equipment donations as again, we are a fully nonprofit501(c)(3) and donations to us are deductible in your taxes that would certainly help bothof us out. Please check with your accountant over this.

Needed over Tower Site just obtained.

1. $4-6000.00 approx. For tower company to strip the tower and reload withantennas and cables to include labor and equipment.2. New roof for small repeater building approx. 12x12 in size.3. New security fence for our new back-up tower site. (No quote as of yet)4. $3000.00 costs over back-up tower site to include taxes, attorney fees, $2000tower removal charges, etc.5. Final tree and brush cleanup, removal of old fence. Approx. $700-1000.006. Full back-up system and LP tank approx. $8000.00

 

Needed for Master Site

1. 1–2-acre plot of land to house our Master Tower site. (west-northwest of Rockford).2. $6000.00 engineering/soil sample studies for Master site Tower.3. $10,000.00 approx. concrete charges.4. $25,000.00 approx. installation, erect, equipment, etc.5. Insurance

As we all can see, by our goals and number of sites for North Central and Northwestern

IL in our initial plan, we are looking at approx. $500,000.00+ project

here to complete all.
