SKYWARn Updates...

As the 2026 severe weather season begins to wind down, we want to thank everyone who participated in this year’s activations, weekly nets, and SKYWARN operations. Your time and continued participation are greatly appreciated and help keep our program moving forward.

As we head into the fall and winter months, we are taking time to look back at this year and evaluate,what worked, what didn’t, and where we can improve.

Our goal is to use the feedback we have received from our members and radio operators to continue building a stronger and more effective SKYWARN program for 2027.

 Training Net Schedule Change:

Beginning in October, our SKYWARN Training Nets will temporarily move to the 2nd Thursday of each month

Amateur - 7:00p

GMRS - 7:30P

This temporary schedule will give us an opportunity to focus our training nets while we continue evaluating our training, staffing, communications, and overall operations.

All licensed amateur radio / GMRS operators are welcome to participate.

You do not need to be a member of Winnebago County SKYWARN to check in.

We appreciate everyone who has supported SKYWARN this year.
